Flashback: Tahoe to Yosemite

A nice 8 hour drive if you ever fancy it...
Something about this town demanded a photo... Unfortunately, I didn't get a piccie of Cool School, but it was there!
The wonders of balancing camera's on car rooftops allowed me this piccie of me by one of the large reservoirs I had to cross.
After driving a very windy road, which you can just about make out to the right of the picture, for well over 45minutes right at the end of the roadtrip, admiring the views and lack of barriers, I felt the need for a stop and found this view quite breath-taking.. Posted by Picasa

More from the Lake Tahoe exploration day

This butterfly didn't flutterby when i stopped for lunch
This was Emerald Bay - about 4 boats entered at that point on some cruise or other. Wouldn't mind a hosue overlooking this...

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe - June

Thanks to some wonderful people in San Jose and one in Germany, I stayed in this cabin near Lake Tahoe as part of my trip.

From there I could drive around the lake and see views across it like this:
At South Lake City I could take a cable car ('Gondola' !) up the mountain to be able to get this view:

13th June - Santa Cruz, route 1 drive

Santa Cruz, the boardwalk sign. It was somehow horrible and cloudy so the other pics don't look so good..

After my close encounter with a snake (word of advice, do not climb up hills at the side of the road in a country with poisonous snakes...), I decided to stick to the main paths off route 1 and found this beautiful bay! Posted by Picasa

Flashback: Monterey Bay, California

Jellyfish, magnified ALOT. Followed by a scuba diver feeding the fish in the main tank. The Hammerhead shark and ray wanted to say hi too. I was quite pleased with these piccies back in June when I took them :)
