8th March 2020, celebrating a friend's birthday over the weekend! Coronavirus was already starting to make its way into the news and people were being careful, but it was over the next few days that the UK news really started picking up with cases.
Even on the day, we were discussing that in all likelihood, it could be a while before we'd be able to do something like this again.The following week was the Cheltenham Races. Odds of it being cancelled had been on the news, but whilst other events were being cancelled, this one still went ahead! Taxi drivers for the birthday shenanigans were either anxious about the races and worrying about whether they should really be accepting fares, or just seeing it as something else to carry on with!
